Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee is responsible for recommending legislation to update and improve the state's body of probate law. It also reviews legislation proposed by others concerning probate law and procedure. The committee works cooperatively with the communications and intergovernmental relations department at Probate Court Administration.

Legislation Affecting Probate Law
The External Affairs Department of Probate Court Administration works with the Legislative Committee of the Probate Assembly to draft and introduce legislation in the General Assembly. Legislation focuses on the improvement of probate law and finding efficiencies within the Probate Courts. Efforts also include securing the required funding from the state budget to properly operate the Probate Courts.
Probate Court Administration publishes an annual Legislative Summary that notifies courts of the latest changes to the statutes. Recent summaries are available below.
