(Naugatuck, CT) – Judge of Probate Peter E. Mariano announced that the Naugatuck Probate Court has moved to new court space at 150 Meadow Street, just across the Green from its previous location at Naugatuck Town Hall. The court’s move, which was planned over several months to ensure minimal disruption and uninterrupted service to citizens, became final at the end of October.
“I would like to thank those in Naugatuck and the probate district’s other member communities – and especially the dedicated Naugatuck Probate Court staff – for their contributions during this transition,” said Judge Mariano. “The court’s first order of business remains service to our residents, who can be assured of the same convenience, efficient adjudication of matters, and access to court staff in our new office location.”
The Naugatuck Probate Court serves the 21st Probate District towns of Beacon Falls, Middlebury, Naugatuck, and Prospect. Connecticut’s Probate Courts assist thousands of older adults to age in place in their own homes; supervise the care and finances of individuals who cannot care for themselves; support individuals with mental health conditions to live in the community instead of in institutional settings; and help thousands of children stay in familiar surroundings with family and friend guardians rather than being placed in foster care.
The Naugatuck Probate Court is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., and can be reached by phone at (203) 720-7046.
