On June 30, 2015, the General Assembly adopted budget legislation increasing probate fees.

 

For estates of decedents dying on or after January 1, 2015, the fee increases from 0.25% to 0.5% on amounts in excess of $2 million. The legislation also eliminates the $12,500 cap on decedents' estates fees. The new fee schedule can be found by clicking here.

 

Changes to entry fees and accounting fees will be effective on January 1, 2016. Those changes are contained in sections 456 through 467 of Senate Bill 1502. We will update the fee schedule on the website when those changes take effect.
